A digital megohmmeter capable of testing switchgear, motors, generators and cables at up to 5000 V dc. The Fluke 1550B can be used for a wide range of tests from simple spot checks to timed tests and breakdown tests. 

The Fluke 1550B automatically calculates the polarization index and dielectric absorption ratios and combines insulation resistance testing up to 5000 V with measurement storage and PC interface software making it ideal for installation testing and preventive maintenance and commissioning.

The Fluke 1550B has the features you expect on higher-end testers, including a ramp function (0-5000 VDC) for breakdown testing, a timer for dielectric absorption, plus the ability to conduct leakage current and cable or insulation capacitance tests.

Easy to use with a simple interface, the meter provides insulation resistance testing up to 1 tera-ohm, with four output voltages: 500 V, 1000 V, 2500 V, 5000 V.  The Fluke 1550B’s warning voltage alerts notify the user that voltage is present and gives the voltage reading up to 600 V ac or dc. 

With its large, fast-responding analog/digital display, The Fluke 1550B shows measurement changes graphically with easy-to-read analog bar graphs as well as digital measurements.  Its 99 memory locations store all measurement parameters, which can then be downloaded to a Windows-based computer using the FlukeView Form (FVF-SC2) software and optical interface cable that come with the meter.  The last-reading memory display is ideal for insulation resistance and lo-ohms. 

The Fluke 1550B  is powered by a high-capacity, rechargeable 12-volt battery that provides enough energy for up to 2,500 tests. In addition, the meter is fully tested to comply with EN 61010-1, CAT III 600 V overvoltage category , EN 61557 installation testing, and EN 61326 EMI immunity.

FlukeView® Forms communicates with supported tools fast and easily via an infrared serial interface. The software will automatically recognize your meter and transfer the data without any configuration.

Share or store your data with co-workers or clients – print forms, export to other software programs, or have co-workers and clients down load the free FlukeView® Demo/Reader to view and interact with your captured data.

With the Fluke 1550B you can measure and store hundreds of readings to the meter's internal memory, and then later download the information to FlukeView® Forms. 

FlukeView® Forms also logs events to make analyzing your data easier. This unique method of data recording provides more detailed readings when the input signal changes significantly. The amount of signal change that will trigger an event can be adjusted to fit your specific test situation. The minimum, maximum and average of readings are recorded for each event. Logging sessions can also be configured so that data will be recorded over specific intervals (e.g., every 5 minutes or 30 seconds).
